Meet Our Student Pharmacists
Every year, between 20 to 80 second-year student pharmacists from Auburn University’s Harrison School of Pharmacy (HSOP) volunteer at AU-SHIP Medicare Outreach Program events. Students are thoroughly trained about Medicare and how to use the online Medicare.gov Plan Finder Tool during their coursework, and pass a certification exam prior to volunteering. They work closely with both certified SHIP counselors and HSOP staff to offer the best advice to Medicare enrollees at events. We are excited to provide our future generation of pharmacists with the skills needed to help Medicare patients in their communities!
